Construction General Permit 3-9001(2003)
New Construction General Permit 3-9020 Has Been Issued
Construction General Permit (CGP) 3-9001 (2003) for Stormwater Runoff From Large Construction Sites has been replaced by General Permit 3-9020 (2006). Do not apply for new coverage under General Permit 3-9001 (2003). Projects authorized under General Permit 3-9001 (2003) are not affected by the issuance of General Permit 3-9020 (2006). The requirements for these projects remain the same, and the authorization remains in effect until the expiration of the permit in April, 2008, or until a Notice of Termination is filed.
New Erosion Control Manual and Winter Construction
The Vermont Standards and Specifications for Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control is the official update to the 1987 Vermont Handbook for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control on Construction Sites. The new manual contains standard conditions for EPSC practices during the winter period (October 15- May 1) in Part 3. Permittees seeking authorization for winter earth disturbance activities under an existing GP-9001 authorization should include these standard conditions on a specific Winter EPSC Plan that clearly documents the areas of work anticipated during this period. These revised winter standards replace the guidance document Winter Construction and the Vermont Construction General Permit: A Planner’s Guide.
